Dr. Martens
Dr Martens is a British footwear company with German origins, founded in 1960 when the R. Griggs Group in Northamptonshire licensed an air-cushioned sole designed by a German army doctor recovering from a skiing injury. The 1460 boot featuring eight eyelets, the famous yellow stitching and a grooved sole, rolled off the Wollaston factory line on the first of April that year, and the name stuck. Worn first by postmen and factory workers, the boot was adopted by skinheads, punks, goths, passing through more subcultures than almost any other garment in British fashion. The leather can feel stiff at first and chances are, your heels will tell you about it but push through, and the boot moulds to your foot like nothing else.Read more
